So Michael Bisping “Heard” Chuck Liddell’s “Really Pissed Off” Over UFC Firing

Michael Bisping admits that he’s not certain if the information is accurate, but the middleweight champ says he’s heard Chuck Liddell isn’t too happy about being let go from his ambassador position with the UFC.

Now, the news that Liddell and Matt Hughes were laid off by the UFC, following the promotion’s sale to WME  IMG isn’t new. But, recently there’s been talk / speculation that “The Iceman” is considering a comeback at the age of 47. The talk spiked after Liddell shared out this photo of him facing off with Tito Ortiz.

Well, recently Bisping talked about Liddell on his “Believe You Me Podcast“, and the British star had this to say (quotes via Bloody Elbow):

“This is me putting out a disclaimer, if they hear me saying this, I can say ‘I said it was third hand information’, when really it might not be third hand information.

“Somebody at the weekend told me that Chuck Liddell is really pissed off, because he had a pretty sweet deal with the UFC when he left this job. He was an ambassador for the UFC. I believe he was on $1 million a year, that’s the number I heard.”

“It was great that the UFC was doing that, but now of course, new UFC owners came in,” Bisping said. “I heard that Chuck was really pissed off, so that’s why he’s possibly going over to Bellator.”

Liddell and Dana White go way back, so, it could very well be the case that the former light-heavyweight champ is upset about what’s gone down.  Especially if he was making that much cash…White said over the years that Liddell would have a job with the promotion, but it seems like the new UFC brass thought differently.

So, if Bellator has come knocking, and if they’re offering him a sizeable payday, then maybe we will see Liddell back in the cage.
