Jimmie Rivera Outlines Hopes For Next Bout, Following 20th Straight Win

UFC Long Island

Following his pivotal victory over Thomas Ameida on Saturday, which was Jimmie Rivera’s fifth straight win in the UFC, the bantamweight has his sights set on the top of the division.

Rivera took on the always dangerous Brazilian at UFC on FOX 25, and outscored him for the unanimous decision victory. With the win, Rivera moved his winning streak to 20.

While discussing his hopes for his next bout after the event, the New Jersey fighter stated this (quote via MMA Junkie):

“What I want next is either to fight T.J. (Dillashaw) for an interim belt if (champ) Cody (Garbrandt) is still hurt, or get (Dominick) Cruz off the bench and let’s fight,” Rivera said.

Rivera also relayed that he’s hoping to fight at the UFC’s return to New York City in November, and there’s likely a good chance, he’ll get that wish. Whether it’s for an interim belt, or against Cruz, however, is another matter.
