A scheduled rematch between former EliteXC lightweight champ KJ Noons and Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett has been scratched from “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum,” and Noons will instead faces Conor Heun at “Strikeforce: Los Angeles” on June 16, Huen today announced.
Noons (8-1) has won four-straight since his February 2007 loss to Bennett, most-recently ending a nearly two-year-long layoff in March with a unanimous decision win over Andre “Dida” Amade in DREAM.
An IFL and EliteXC veteran, Heun (8-3) had won three in a row before dropping a unanimous decision to UFC veteran Jorge Gurgel in his Strikeforce debut last June.
The Showtime-televised “Strikeforce: Los Angeles” is headlined by Robbie Lawler vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral and also includes Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos vs. Marius Zaromskis, Tim Kennedy vs. Trevor Prangley and Shane Del Rosario vs. Lolohea Mahe.
