Seth Petruzelli Returns to UFC vs. Newcomer Ricardo Romero at UFC 116

The Ultimate Fighter 2 castmember Seth Petruzelli has announced that he’s returning to the UFC and will take on UFC newcomer Ricardo Romero in a light heavyweight contest on the preliminary card of UFC 116 on July 3 in Las Vegas.

Petruzelli (12-4) dropped his UFC debut to Matt Hamill in October 2006, then suffered a second-round submission to Wilson Gouveia the following April, but has won four-straight since, including his infamous 14-second KO of Kimbo Slice in October 2008 as well as a first-round submission victory last month.

Romero (10-1), who recently signed a four-fight deal with the UFC, has won five-straight since a December 2008 DQ loss, including notable wins over former TUF castmembers Karn Grigoryan and James McSweeney as well as a first-round submission of Silmar Rodrigo in his most-recent bout in November.

UFC 116 is headlined by the return of heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. interim title-holder Shane Carwin, and also features Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Wanderlei Silva.
