The line-up for UFC 217 continues to receive compelling bouts, as now the promotion’s announced that Stephen Thompson and Jorge Masvidal will fight at the November 4th card. The upcoming event will go down at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Recently Thompson (13-2-1) relayed that he was hoping to fight either Robbie Lawler or Masvidal in his next bout, so, obviously he’s got his wish. The highlight reel striker hasn’t fought since March, when he dropped a majority decision loss to welterweight champ, Tyron Woodley. Thompson underwent knee surgery following the bout.
Masdvidal (32-12) fought in May and lost via split decision to fellow contender, Demian Maia. Prior to that “Gamebred” had won three in a row.
So, that’s a nice addition to a card that will feature Cody Garbrandt vs. TJ Dillashaw, and is expected to include Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre.
