It seems like more recently, a lot more people have been coming over to the camp that believe Conor McGregor could in fact, score an upset on Saturday night. According to one of the UFC champ’s coaches, however, “everyone” would be predicting a victory for McGregor, if they witnessed what he’s been doing in the gym…

On Saturday night, McGregor will be looking to become the first man to defeat Floyd Mayweather in a professional boxing match. The decorated boxer will be looking to break Rocky Marciano’s awe inspiring record of 49-0. Due to Mayweather’s resume and pugilistic abilities, McGregor is an underdog heading into the massive fight. After all, the Irish star has never competed in a pro-boxing bout.

Well, for sometime now, members of McGregor’s team have been saying that the superstar is going to end Mayweather’s undefeated run. Recently his striking coach, Owen Roddy, had this to say, while discussing why they believe McGregor will be victorious (quote via MMA Fighting):

“We’ve been doing this for four years now. Every time what Conor does blows me away. I’ve seen firsthand what Conor has been doing in this camp and I know that he’s capable of knocking Mayweather out.

“There is no doubt in my mind. If everyone saw Conor in the gym, they would believe too.

“We reached different milestones throughout the camp. We’ve gone from amateur boxers to pro boxers, all the way up to world-class boxers. After seeing what he has done at each step of the way you just can’t doubt him. It removes all doubt from the equation.”

It will be fascinating to see what goes down, August 26th, no question. In recent weeks, the odds on Mayweather winning have shrunk considerably, in large part due to the fact a lot of money has been put on McGregor.

Mayweather – McGregor will go down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
