Tony Ferguson will be gunning for the UFC’s lightweight interim title on October 7th, and it sounds like Khabib Nurmagomedov believes “El Cucuy” has a good chance of making that happen.
Ferguson is booked to fight rising lightweight Kevin Lee at UFC 216, and when he does, he’ll be looking to score his 10th consecutive win. Lee, on the other hand, has won five in a row.
Recently Fight Nights Global caught up with Nurmagomedov, and when asked for his call on the fight, ‘The Eagle” said this (quote via MMA Junkie):
“60-40 in favor of Ferguson,” Nurmagomedov said. “I think these guys are going to fight all five rounds.”
There’s probably a lot of other people who have a similar take on the match-up. Nurmagomedov also relayed in the interview that he hopes to face the winner of Ferguson – Lee in December.
