The UFC is doing its best to stack its November 4th return to New York City, as the promotion’s announced that Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to defend the strawweight belt against Rose Namajunas at the event.
Jedrzejczyk (14-0) will be gunning for her sixth title defense, following a decision win she scored over Jessica Andrade this past May. If she defeats Namajunas, the Polish star will tie Ronda Rousey’s record for title defenses.
Namajunas (6-3) has been tapped for a title shot, after she submitted fellow contender Michelle Waterson in April. The American dropped a split decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz before that bout, which took place last July.
So, with this addition, UFC 217 will feature three title fights. The Madison Square Garden event will also see bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt take on TJ Dillashaw, and middleweight champ Michael Bisping face Georges St-Pierre.
