Demetrious Johnson could set a new record for title defenses at UFC 216, but it looks like the interim title fight between lightweights Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee will remain the card’s headliner.
The flyweight champ will be gunning for his 11th title defense at the October 7th event, and Johnson will do so against Ray Borg. The two had been scheduled to fight at UFC 215 earlier this month, but the fight was moved, after Borg was forced to withdraw due to illness.
Recently the UFC released a new poster that features Johnson and Borg, but the fight is secondary to Ferguson – Lee. In addition, the card’s line-up at UFC.com still shows Ferugson – Lee as the main event.
What do you think? Should the flyweight title fight – one with potentially historic implications – be serving as the headliner?
