The scheduled Mizuto Hirota – Charles Rosa bout looked promising on paper, but unfortunately, the fight has been pulled from tonight’s UFC Fight Night Japan card.
Hirota came in several pounds overweight yesterday for the contest, as the Japanese veteran was 150 pounds for the featherweight fight. As you can see by watching the clip below, Hirota seemed to be very unstable.
More recently, the UFC announced that Hirota has been scratched from the event:
Due to health and safety concerns, the UFC featherweight bout Hirota vs. Rosa at UFC Fight Night Japan: Saint Preux vs. Okami has been cancelled, as Hirota was deemed unfit to compete by the UFC medical team.
UFC Fight Night Japan: Saint Preux vs. Okami will proceed as scheduled with 10 bouts at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Moving to the main card will be the flyweight bout between Jussier Formiga and Ulka Sasaki.
