UFC Fight Night Japan is underway in the Saitama Super Arena, and main card recaps and all the results follow below.

In the main event, light-heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux will take on Yushin Okami.

Syrui Kondo def. Chan-Mi Jeon via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 30-27)

Shinsho Anzai def. Luke Jumeau via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Daichi Abe def. Hyun Gyu Lim via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28

Keita Nakamura def. Alex Morono via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Jussier Formiga vs. Ulka Sasaki 
Saskai came out looking to fight at range and make the most of his reach and length advantage. Formiga, meanwhile, came winging big punches, but after eating some nice knees to the body, he took the fight down. From there, the BJJ black belt moved into mount, and after Sasaki gave up his back, Formiga eventually secured a fight ending, rear-naked-choke.

Rolando Dy  vs. Teruto Ishihara 

Ishihara sent Dy to the deck not long into the fight with a booming straight left, and punished him with strikes from above for the remainder of the round. In round two, however, Dy recovered well, and landed some nicely timed counters. In round three, Ishihara continued to press forward, and Dy countered with timely punches again. But, Ishihara took a knee to the groin, and later in the round, he was hit with a vicious, low kick as well, which cost Dy a point.

Henrique da Silva vs. Gokhan Saki 

Saki sent da Silva to the deck shortly into the bout with a hard left hand, and let the latter get back to his feet. Saki continued to pick da Silva apart with strikes, and defended a takedown, but appeared to fade as the round wore on. Da Silva landed some nice knees from the clinch, but then, out of nowhere, Saki countered with a massive left hook that ended the fight. Impressive debut for the kickboxing star.

Gokhan Saki def. Henrique da Silva via KO (punch) R1, 4:45

Takanori Gomi vs. “Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim 

Kim blasted Gomi with a right hand not long into the bout, which sent the legend to the floor. After a couple of follow up shots, the fight was called. Gomi appeared to be okay, but that aside, it’s another stoppage loss for the former PRIDE champ.

Jessica Andrade vs. Claudia Gadelha

Both strawweights came out firing heavy punches, and Gadelha bloodied Andrade with one of her shots. The latter, proceeded to score a big slam, however, and landed strikes from above. Gadelha tried taking the fight down in round two, but Andrade was able to keep standing and planted a lot of heavy punches on her opponent. Gadelha went for a late, guillotine choke, but the horn sounded. Andrade slammed Gadelha to the mat again in round three, and proceeded to batter her with punches from the top position. Very impressive performance from Andrade.

Yushin Okami vs. Ovince Saint Preux 

Okami immediately shot in and tried working from half guard, after Saint Preux sprawled. From there, Saint Preux worked his way into yet another Von Flue Choke, which choked Okami out unconscious. Unbelievable.
