When Anthony Johnson announced he was retiring back in April, not everyone really thought “Rumble” would never throw hands in the Octagon again. Well, according to Johnson’s manager, it sounds like those folks were right.
Johnson shocked the MMA world back at UFC 210, when he announced he was hanging up the gloves, after being submitted by Daniel Cormier. Johnson said it was time to move on from fighting and pursue opportunities outside of the cage.
But, during the latest “MMA Hour”, Johnson’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz reported that Johnson is thinking about coming back, and if he does, they want him to fight at heavyweight. In addition, he also said that they are meeting with UFC boss man Dana White this week to discuss Johnson’s return.
So, when you consider a ton of people like to watch Johnson fight, it would be pretty surprising if the UFC wasn’t on board with this. Further, Johnson has competed at heavyweight in the past as well, so that shouldn’t be a hurdle either.
