UFC 216: Kevin Lee Makes Weight For Title Fight, After Needing Extra Hour

UFC 216

It wasn’t clear for sometime if Kevin Lee was going to make weight for his interim lightweight title fight with Tony Ferguson tomorrow, but finally, the rising contender came in under the 155 pound limit.

“The Motown Phenom”, who reported yesterday that he had 19 pounds to lose, weighed in at 156 pounds on his first attempt. Since he’s competing in a title fight, Lee had to hit 155. It was then announced that Lee had one more hour to lose the weight, provided he was medically cleared to attempt doing so.

Then, around 12:15 PST, Lee returned to the scale and weighed in at 154.5.

The card’s other title fight, between flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg is also a go, as the fighters came in at 125 and 124 respectively.

Nik Lentz, however, will no longer fight Will Brooks, as the UFC’s announced he’s unable to fight due to medical issues.
