Hominick and Jabouin won “Fight of the Night” honors for their back-and-forth WEC 49 co-headliner, which saw Hominick hurt Jabouin in the second round only to be knocked down himself before recovering to score a second-round TKO.
The featherweight contender Grispi earned “Submission of the Night” as he choked L.C. Davis unconscious with an opening round guillotine, while the former bantamweight champ Wineland won “Knockout of the Night” by stopping Will Campuzano with a second-round body shot.
WEC 49 drew an estimated 5,600 fans to Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the event, which was headlined by former lightweight champ Jamie Varner vs. 155-pound contender Kamal Shalorus.
