Bellator 185 Primer: What to Watch – Alexander Shlemenko vs. Gegard Mousasi

Kelsey Mowatt

Gegard Mousasi

Gegard Mousasi will make his Bellator debut right around the corner, and his first bout with the organization has the potential to be a doozy of a scrap.

That’s because Mousasi will take on former middleweight champ Alexander Shlemenko, who is one of the organization’s most talented finishers. Case in point, since 2013, Shlemenko has submitted or stopped six opponents. The Russian fighter is feared for his punishing body shots, spinning backfists and nasty chokes.

Of course, Mousasi is one of the more complete middleweights on the planet, so it remains to be seen if Shlemenko can spoil the Dutch fighter’s highly anticipated debut.

Recently Bellator posted the video below, which breaks down the October 20th bout.
