Bantamweight contenders Scott Jorgensen and Brad Pickett will square off on the Versus-televised main card at “WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez“, while featherweights Bryan Caraway and Fredson Paixao are slated to meet on the preliminary card of the August 18 event in Las Vegas, according to MMAWeekly.
Jorgensen (10-3) earned a unanimous decision over Antonio Banuelos at April’s WEC 48, avenging a June 2009 loss with his fourth-straight win, while Pickett (19-4) has scored nine-straight victories, including back-to-back WEC wins.
Caraway (14-4) suffered a first-round submission to Mark Hominick in his WEC debut in January to snap a three-fight win streak, while Paixao (9-3-1) scored his first WEC win over Courtney Buck in March after coming up short in his two previous WEC bouts.
WEC 50 is headlined by a rematch between bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez, and also features the 135-pound debut of former featherweight champ Urijah Faber against Takeya Mizugaki.
