It hasn’t taken Ian McCall long to find a new employer, after he recently requested his release from the UFC, and the promotion granted his wish.
Earlier today, the Japanese based promotion Rizin FF, announced that McCall will compete in the promotion’s bantamweight grand prix. McCall will take on Manel Kape in the December 29th, quarterfinals, which will go down in Saitama, Japan.
So, it will be interesting to see how McCall (13-5-1) does in the tourney. The 33 year-old fighter has fought only twice since 2013, due to injuries and opponents having to withdraw from bouts. But, if he scores wins at the upcoming tourney, McCall could fight three times in three days.
Kape (7-1) competed in the opening round of the grand prix this past weekend, and knocked out Erson Yamamoto.
