A lot of fans are blasting Colby Covington for the controversial, post-fight comments he directed at the Sao Paulo crowd on Saturday, but the outspoken welterweight isn’t walking back his statements.
Following Covington’s decision win over Demian Maia at UFC Fight Night 119, the welterweight called the Brazilian city a “dump”, and it’s residents “filthy animals”. Since then, it’s been reported that the UFC is reviewing the situation, against its code of conduct. UFC senior vice president David Shaw also relayed that they’re not “happy” about the fighter’s actions.
Covington, however, tweeted out the comment below, in response to the criticism he’s taking:
On the walk out I get called every name in the book then they chant “You Gonna Die” I poke back at them a bit and everyone loses their mind?
