UFC 217: Georges St-Pierre Concedes “I’m Not Good at Trash Talking”

UFC 217

The actual fight between Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping won’t go down until this Saturday at UFC 217. But, if you’ve watched the lead-up to the November 4th card, then you know Bisping has dominated the verbal warfare.

Of course, a big reason for that is because Bisping’s one of the best trash talkers in the game. While GSP, well, he recently had this to say while speaking to the media (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“I don’t trash talk. I am like I am,” St-Pierre said. “Because the new thing is to be like Conor McGregor, because he makes money, it’s good for him because he’s natural and he’s very good at what he does. And everybody think that’s how they’re going to make money.

“For me, I stay natural, I stay authentic to who I am, and I’m not good at trash talking, I’m just not good at it. If I try to do it, I’d make a fool of myself and I’m going to lose. First, English is not my first language, I think French in my head, and it’s like a rap battle, I’m just not good at it. I pick my fights very carefully, I fight where I’m strong.”

Ultimately, what matters is how many high stake fights you win, and not too many people have been better at that, than GSP.

UFC 217 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.
