That manager is Audie Attar, who heads up Paradigm Sports Management. Recently Attar was a guest on the Believe You Me Podcast, and not surprisingly, he was asked to weigh-in on the likelihood of McGregor and Ferguson fighting (quote via MMA Fighting):
“The sport is one where they’re gonna compete. If you have clients in the same weight class and they’re the top of the division, they’re gonna meet. . . With Tony and Conor, it’s inevitable. You have the lightweight champ and the interim lightweight champ, so that’s a fight that’s naturally gonna happen.”
All that makes sense. Of course, there’s always a chance that perhaps, McGregor elects to make a run at welterweight, but that seems unlikely at the moment.
Attar also noted that a rubber match between McGregor and Nate Diaz makes “sense”, but that he doesn’t know who the Irish star will fight next. Here’s hoping McGregor – Ferguson gets signed for early 2018.
