Following his second round TKO victory over Krysztof Soszynski this past Saturday at UFC 116, UFC light heavyweight Stephan Bonnar will return to a different kind of action this August. The runner up from season one of “The Ultimate Fighter” will once again step behind the microphone to perform color-commentary duties at WEC 50 on August 18, according to a report from MMAFighting.
The position alongside Todd Harris was long filled by former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, however WEC 46 marked Mir’s last time filling the post. Bonnar stepped in for WEC 47, and Kenny Florian stepped into the role at last months WEC 49, with commentary duties for the unbranded (WEC 48) Aldo vs. Faber performed by the Zuffa pay-per-view team of Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.
The company has not finalized plans for the position moving beyond WEC 50, but Bonnar believes he and Florian are in the mix for the role.
