In the midst of McGregor’s consecutive bouts with Nate Diaz, which took place at welterweight, there was plenty of discussion about the Irish fighter competing at that weight moving forward. Then, after McGregor won the lightweight title in 2016, there was talk about whether the former featherweight champ might go for a third belt (despite the fact McGregor said a rubber match with Diaz should be at 155).
More recently, speculation about McGregor’s future has been more so about when and who, he’ll defend the lightweight title against. But, in a recent UFC Tonight, the welterweight champ Woodley said this:
