The Ultimate Fighter 11’s Rich Attonito will welcome fellow middleweight Rafael Natal to the UFC when they meet on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 22 on September 15 in Austin, Texas, the UFC announced today.
After a broken hand forced him out of TUF 11’s 185-pound tournament, Attonito (8-3) made his UFC debut in June with a unanimous decision over fellow castmember Jamie Yager at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale.
A Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt, Natal (12-2) signed a four-fight deal with the UFC earlier this month for an expected UFC 119 debut after knocking out UFC veteran Travis Lutter at May’s “Moosin: God of Martial Arts” event.
The Spike-televised UFC Fight Night 22 fight card is headlined by middleweight contenders Demian Maia vs. Alan Belcher and also includes Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig, Gleison Tibau vs. Jim Miller, and Ross Pearson vs. Cole Miller.
