UFC on Versus 2 Medical Suspensions and Injuries for “Jones vs. Matyushenko”

Vladimir MatyushenkoNine fighters from Sunday’s UFC on Versus 2 event have been issued medical suspensions, including Vladimir Matyushenko, who has been suspended 45 days after suffering a first-round TKO to rising light heavyweight Jon Jones in the UFC on Versus 2 main event.

John Howard and DaMarques Johnson received the longest suspensions, as both were sidelined 180 days for possible facial fractures.

The complete list of UFC on Versus 2 medical suspensions included:

  • Vladimir Matyushenko: Suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons
  • Mark Munoz: Suspended 45 days for sprained elbow
  • John Howard: Suspended 180 days unless cleared by doctor for possible facial fracture; minimum 45 day suspension
  • Tyson Griffin: Suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons
  • Jacob Volkmann: Suspended 30 days unless cleared by doctor for possible loose tooth
  • DaMarques Johnson: Suspended 180 days unless cleared by doctor for possible facial fracture; minimum 45 day suspension
  • James Irvin: Suspended 60 days unless cleared by doctor for cut over left eye; minimum 45 day suspension
  • Igor Pokrajac: Suspended 60 days unless cleared by doctor for scalp laceration
  • Mike Massenzio: Suspended 45 days for precautionary reasons
