Less than one year after Dana White said he would never fight again in the UFC, former welterweight contender Karo Parisyan is set to return to the Octagon and has agreed to face Dennis Hallman at “UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida” on November 20 in Detroit, according to MMA Fighting.
Parisyan (19-5) was cut from the UFC in November after pulling out on the eve of a UFC 106 matchup with Dustin Hazelett, the latest in a series of personal problems that also included testing for banned painkillers after a UFC 94 win over Dong Hyun Kim.
“The Heat” ended an 18-month layoff in July with a second-round submission of Ben Mortimer in Australia’s ImpactFC in his lone fight outside the UFC.
Hallman (42-13-2), a longtime veteran who holds two notable wins over hall of famer Matt Hughes, suffered a last-second TKO to John Howard in his return to the UFC in December, but bounced back with a unanimous decision over Ben Saunders at August’s UFC 117.
The UFC 123 fight card is headlined by former light heavyweight champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida.
