Brian Bowles Forced Out of WEC 52 Matchup with Wagnney Fabiano

Brian BowlesFormer WEC bantamweight champ Brian Bowles has been forced out of a WEC 52 matchup with Wagnney Fabiano on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas after suffering a broken foot in training, MMA Weekly reports.

Bowles (8-1) dropped the 135-pound title to Dominick Cruz in March after a broken hand stopped him from continuing after the second-round of the WEC 47 headliner.

The loss was the first for Bowles, who scored a first-round KO of Miguel Torres last August to win the bantamweight title with his fifth-straight WEC win.

The search is now on to find a replacement to face Fabiano on the Versus-televised WEC 52 fight card, which is headlined by former featherweight champ Urijah Faber’s bantamweight debut vs. Takeya Mizugaki.
