Mark Hominick vs. George Roop Likely for UFC Fight for the Troops 2

Featherweight contender Mark Hominick will look to earn a shot at the title currently held by Jose Aldo when he’s expected to meet George Roop at UFC Fight for the Troops 2 on January 22 at Fort Hood, Texas, according to Heavy.

Hominick (19-8) topped Leonard Garcia at September’s WEC 51 for his third-straight WEC win and was expected to challenge Aldo before Josh Grispi was tapped for the UFC 125 title fight after the WEC merged with the UFC.

Roop (11-6-1) earned “Knockout of the Night” honors at WEC 51 with a head kick KO of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung following a two-fight winless streak.

The Spike-televised UFC Fight for the Troops 2 fight card is headlined by Kenny Florian vs. Evan Dunham and also features Pat Barry vs. Joey Beltran.
