UFC 122 PLAY-BY-PLAY
KRZYSZTOF SOSZYNSKI VS. GORAN RELJIC
Round 1 – Soszynski opens up the action with leg kicks, then Reljic fires back with kicks of own and follows up with punches. They trade body body kicks and Soszynski returns to his feet after slipping. After missing with wild punches, Soszynski stalks forward with punches then shrugs off a takedown and they clinch against the cage, but are restarted. More kicks from both before Reljic earns a takedown. Soszynski goes for a kimura, but Reljic protects his arm and punches his back for the final minute. MMAFrenzy.com scores the close round for Soszynski 10-9.
Round 2 – Soszynski fires kicks to start the second, but Reljic quickly scores another takedown. Reljic tries to break free to ground and pound, but Soszynski limits the damage and they’re restarted. Soszynski presses Reljic to the fence as he looks for a takedown, then they fight for positioning in the clinch before being restarted. Reljic fires a head kick that’s blocked, but a takedown is stopped and Soszynski fires knees to the leg in the clinch for the final seconds. MMAFrenzy.com sees the second for Reljic 10-9, tying the fight at 19-19.
Round 3 – They trade punches to open the final round. Soszysnki stalks forward, then stuffs a takedown from Reljic and takes the back. Reljic rolls for a knee, but Soszynski escapes and keeps Reljic pinned and tees off with punches. Reljic scrambles back to his feet and quickly tries for a takedown, but they clinch and Soszysnki goes for a kimura. Reljic escapes, but is tired as Soszynski keeps on the pressure and gets to side control. Reljic reclaims half guard, but Soszynski keeps him pinned and breaks free for a late flurry of ground and pound. Soszynski earns the third 10-9, taking the fight 29-28.

AMIR SADOLLAH VS. PETER SOBOTTA
Round 1 – Sobotta fires quick punches to open the fight, then lands a leg kick before they clinch against the cage. They separate and Sadollah pushes forward and they clinch again. Sadollah presses Sobotta to the cage before splitting. Sadollah moves forward and connects with punches, keeping Sobotta close to the cage. Sabotta ducks a punch and takes the back, but Sadollah gets him back to the clinch. Sobotta works for a takedown, but Sadollah stays on his feet. Sadollah escapes a takedown late and unloads a combo to finish the round. MMAFrenzy.com scores the first for Sadollah 10-9.
Round 2 – Sadollah connects with leg kicks to start the second and Sobotta counters before Sadollah lands more kicks. Sadollah settles in and continues to connect with punches and kicks as a small cut emerges. Sadollah continues to hold the edge on the feet before Sabotta briefly takes him down. Sadollah attacks with leg kicks and eats a crisp counter before a kick trips Sabotta to the canvas.. Sadollah lets Sobotta back to his feet where he batters the leg with more kicks before the kell sounds. It’s another round for Sadollah, who now leads 20-18.
Round 3 – Sadollah continues to land with leg kicks and punches to start the third, but Sobotta sneaks in some offense of his own. Leg kicks have Sobotta wobbling, but he grabs a kick and gets into the clinch, but there’s little action before they split. Sadollah fires more leg kicks, but Sobotta is game and does his back to fight back. Another spinning back kick fails to find its mark for Sobotta as Sadollah sticks to his gameplan. Sadollah rushes in with punches then unloads another combo as Sobotta is backed against the fence. It’s more of the same from Sadollah to wrap up what should be a 30-27 shut out.

YUSHIN OKAMI VS. NATE MARQUARDT
Round 1 – Okami moves forward to start the bout and tags Marquardt early. Marquardt looks for a guillotine as he’s taken down, but Okami escapes. Okami looks to stand and Marquardt tries the guillotine again but can’t get it and Okami’s into half guard. Marquardt grabs the leg, but Okami gets free again and stands. Okami and Okami fire big punches, then Okami works for another takedown. Marquardt delivers a knee to the body, but Okami drags him to the ground in the final seconds to close out the round. MMAFrenzy.com scores the round for Okami 10-9.
Round 2 – Okami stalks forward to begin the second as Marquardt has his right hand loaded but can’t pull the trigger. Okami sneaks in a jab as Marquardt grabs a leg for a takedown of his own, but Okami escapes and initiates the clinch. Marquardt reverses to the outside, softens Okami with a knee, then trips him down and jumps into guard. Okami powers back to his feet, but he’s immediately dumped back down by Marquardt before escaping. They struggle for position in another clinch before separating. Okami connects with a left then rushes forward for a knee, but eats a right. Marquardt lands another hard right at the bell. Marquardt takes the round 10-9, evening the fight at 19-19.
Round 3 – Okami controls the center of the cage early in the third as he throws occasional punches. Marquardt looks to counter with a heavy right, but Okami presses forward and connects with punches. Marquardt is backed against the cage and Okami lands again. Okami connects with his jab. Marquardt finally initiates some exchanges, then scores a key takedown into Okami’s half guard. Marquardt is unable to do anything before Okami returns to his feet and takes back control on the feel. After another exchange, they fight for position in the clinch and Marquardt rushes forward at the final bell. MMAFrenzy.com scores a close third for Okami 10-9, giving him a 29-28 win.
