UFC 129 Set for April 30 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre

UFC President Dana WhiteThe UFC will make its anticipated debut in Toronto when it hosts UFC 129 on April 30 at the Rogers Centre, UFC President Dana White announced on Tuesday in the Canadian city.

The event, rumored since Toronto legalized MMA in August, is expected to break the UFC’s attendance and gate records, with a crowd upwards of 50,000 expected in the arena that can hold nearly 70,000.

No fights were announced for the card, but it would be no surprise if Canadian star and current welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre is added after facing Josh Koscheck at UFC 124 in Montreal this Saturday.

A UFC Fan Expo will accompany the event on April 29 and 30 at the city’s Direct Energy Centre.

UPDATE: The UFC’s Toronto debut on April 30 was expected to be UFC 131, but will instead be UFC 129
