Olympian Rick Hawn Joins Bellator Season 4 Welterweight Tournament

Bellator has confirmed that United States Olympic Judoka Rick Hawn has joined the Bellator season four welterweight tournament.

Hawn is undefeated in MMA and gained notoriety for his spectacular throw and TKO of Levan Maynard at Bellator 33. Hawn has medaled in multiple international Judo tournaments and placed as high as ninth at the 2004 Athens Games.

The Bellator season four welterweight tournament is taking shape nicely as Hawn joins Dan Hornbuckle and UFC-vet Jay Hieron. The winner of the tournament will recieve $100,000 and a chance at Bellator welterweight champion, also a US Olympian, Ben Askren. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney is very excited about the welterweight tournament stating:

“This tournament is shaping up to be one of our most competitive and talent-rich yet and I can’t wait to see who will be facing Ben Askren for our World Championship after all is said and done.”
