After recently being released by Strikeforce alongside Joey Villasenor, veteran Joe Riggs has been added to Bellator’s middleweight roster and will debut during the promotion’s upcoming fourth season on MTV2 that begins in March.
“Bellator has a lot of well-rounded, talented guys in their middleweight division,” Riggs said in a release. “Guys like Bryan Baker, Eric Schambari, and of course the Middleweight Champion, Hector Lombard. There are some really good middleweights for me to test myself against, and it was one of the reasons I came to Bellator.”
Riggs (34-12) has won six of his last seven, losing only to Jay Hieron while stopping Louis Taylor in his final Strikeforce bout in August, and holds wins over Strikeforce champ Nick Diaz and UFC vets Phil Baroni, Chris Lytle, Kendall Grove, and Joe Doerkson.
