The hits keep on coming for former WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown, who is set to undergo surgery that will sideline him indefinitely for a hand injury suffered in his loss to Rani Yahya at Saturday’s UFC Fight for the Troops 2.
“Wanted to let everyone know that I’m doing fine,” Brown posted. “But I tore a radial cruciate ligament in my left hand in the first round of the fight. Surgery tomorrow. A crazy month for sure.”
After being upset by Diego Nunes at UFC 125 on New Year’s Day, Brown (24-8) looked to quickly get back on track as a late-replacement against Yahya, but instead dropped a unanimous decision for his second-straight loss. to fall to 2-4 since losing the title to Jose Aldo in 2009.
Despite notable wins over Urijah Faber and Leonard Garcia, it will likely be do-or-die for Brown when he returns to the Octagon after going just 2-4 since losing the title to Jose Aldo in 2009.
