UFC President Dana White announced at the post-fight press conference that UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva received a $75,000 Knockout of the Night bonus for his spectacular knockout of Vitor Belfort Saturday night.
Jon Jones also grew $75,000 richer for his second Guilotine Choke on Ryan Bader. Jones also received the non-monetary bonus of a title shot against UFC light heavyweight champion Marucio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128.
Rounding out the bonuses for the night was Paul Kelly and Donald Cerrone’s fight. Both fighters recieved an extra $75,000 for their Fight of the Night effort. The Spike-televised fight marked Cerrone’s first win in the UFC with his second round submission of Paul Kelly. The bonus could serve as solace for the English fighter, as an impending cut from the UFC could be in his future.
