UFC 126 Medical Suspensions: Forrest Griffin, Jake Ellenberger Get Six Months

Forrest GriffinThe Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued medical suspensions to 10 of the 22 fighters from Saturday’s UFC 126 event in Las Vegas, including Vitor Belfort and Forrest Griffin.

Belfort was suspended until March 23 for precautionary reasons after suffering a first-round knockout to middleweight champ Anderson Silva in UFC 126’s main event, while Griffin and fellow main card winner Jake Ellenber face six month suspensions.

The complete list of UFC 126 medical suspensions includes:

  • Vitor Belfort: Suspended until March 23 as precaution
  • Forrest Griffin: Suspended until August 5 unless cleared by doctor for right foot injury
  • Jake Ellenberger: Suspended until August 5 unless cleared by doctor for injuries to both hands
  • Carlos Eduardo Rocha: Suspended until March 23 for scalp laceration
  • Paul Kelly: Suspended until March 23 for right eyebrow laceration
  • Chad Mendes: Suspended until March 23
  • Michihiro Omigawa: Suspended until April 7 for right eyebrow laceration and head blows
  • Gabe Ruediger: Suspended until April 7 for right eyebrow laceration and TKO
  • Ricardo Romero: Suspended until March 23 as precaution
  • Kenny Robertson: Suspended until March 23 as precaution
