Healy and Beerbohm engaged in what turned out to be an exciting ground war with multiple transitions and submission attempts. In the end, Healy did enough to pull off the win, earning a close but decisive 29-28 decision on all three judges scorecards.
In other action, Ryan Couture, improved to 2-0 professionally with a strong showing against Lee Higgins. Couture looked like a veteran in the fight, using patient striking, solid takedowns, and impressive submission skills to eventually overwhelm Higgins by rear naked choke at 4:41 in the third. Higgins showed great heart in the fight but looked out-matched as he survived a D’arce attempt from Couture (thanks to the bell) in the first round and a solid right followed by rear naked choke attempt in the second before finally succumbing to Couture in the third.
Also on the card, former WEC fighter Carlo Prater showed flashes of his former promise by quickly submitting Bryan Travers. Prater engaged in a few striking exchanges before quickly locking in a modified anaconda choke and choking Travers unconscious.
