Fresh off a win over Jorge Rivera this past weekend at UFC 127, middleweight contender Michael Bisping has a number of potential opponents for his next bout, but recent title challenger Vitor Belfort has jumped to the front of the line with a request to fight Bisping.
“I am looking forward to fight Bisping on May card,” Belfort wrote on Twitter. “I need to fight soon. I want to get busy.”
Belfort has also been rumored for a rematch with Wanderlei Silva but is eager to return as soon as possible, while Bisping’s other options include fellow contenders Yushin Okami, Chael Sonnen, and Alan Belcher.
Though UFC 130 on May 28 is already filled, the UFC’s summer schedule includes UFC 131 on June 11 in Vancouver, a July 2 event in Las Vegas expected to be UFC 132, a rumored return to the U.K., and UFC: Rio on Aug. 27 that could host a potential Belfort-Bisping matchup.
