Chris Lytle Considering Retirement After Secret Surgery, UFC 127 Loss

Chris LytleWelterweight veteran Chris Lytle is considering retirement after dropping a unanimous decision to Octagon newcomer Brian Ebersole this past weekend at UFC 127 in Sydney, Australia, which came just four weeks after a secret surgery to remove the meniscus from his knee, Lytle’s agent Ken Pavia confirmed to MMAFighting.

Despite the injury, Lytle still earned “Fight of the Night” honors in the bout to tie UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva with the most “fight night” bonuses at eight.

Prior to the loss, Lytle (30-18-5) had won four-straight, including a win over former champ Matt Serra in his hometown of Indianapolis in September, and is expected to take some time before deciding his future.
