Chris Camozzi, Rob Kimmons, and Dave Branch Released by the UFC

Chris CamozziChris Camozzi, Rob Kimmons, and Dave Branch have all been released from the UFC.

All three middleweights received their walking papers after recent losses, according to MMAWeekly and MMAJunkie.

Camozzi confirmed the release on his website and gave more insight into move:

“According to the UFC the issue is less about my performance (they offered to give me a recommendation) and more to do with an overloaded roster and not enough fights for us under contract,” Camozzi wrote. “This has nothing to do with the recent merger.”

Branch recently dropped a submission loss to Rousimar Palhares at the UFC on Versus 3 show. Branch will be looking to get back into the win column soon and will look to get back into the UFC soon.

Kimmons was the longest tenured of the cuts, going 3-4 in the UFC. Kimmons was coming off back-t- back losses before being cut, the most recent being a TKO loss to Dong Yi Yang at the UFC on Versus 3 show.

All fighters will be looking to return to the UFC but could possibly sign with Strikeforce with the recent acquisition of the company by the UFC’s parent company, Zuffa.
