Following his win over Dan Hardy, Johnson told MMA Weekly he’d like the chance to beat up John Howard, but doubted the matchup would be made now with Howard coming off back-to-back losses to Jake Ellenberger and Thiago Alves.
Johnson was set to face Howard last March after the pair exchanged words, but a knee injury sidelined him until his successful return to the Octagon on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Hendricks told MMAjunkie he hopes to fight Diego Sanchez after scoring UFC Fight Night 24’s “Knockout of the Night” over T.J. Waldburger.
“The guy I’ve been looking at and we’ve been talking about – and the guy is really tough and been around the block for a while and fought some of the toughest guys in the [welterweight and lightweight] classes – is Diego Sanchez,” Hendricks said.
Earlier Monday, Dan Hardy called for a matchup with fellow slugger Chris Lytle as the former title challenger looks to avoid a likely UFC release and snap a three-fight losing streak in his next bout.
