Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira stated Saturday on a Brazilian TV show that he will be fighting at “UFC: Rio” in August. Nogueira did not disclose who he would be fighting but was adamant that he would be on the card.
According to Sherdog, Nogueira stated:
“The biggest MMA promotion in the world will be back in Brazil after 14 years and I’ll be there, steady and strong.”
Nogueira has not fought since his February 2010 knockout loss to now-UFC champion Cain Velasquez. The former PRIDE and UFC interim champion has struggled with injuries and illness the last few years and has recently been recovering from surgeries on his hip and knee.
