Strikeforce: “Overeem vs. Werdum” Medical Suspensions

Alistair Overeem and Fabricio WerdumThe Texas Department of Licensing recently released their list of medically suspended fighters from last Saturday’s Strikeforce: “Overeem vs. Werdum” event.

Most fighters were only issued mandatory ten day suspensions, but several fighters received longer suspensions, including Conor Heun and Justin Wilcox.

While the full extent of the injury is unknown at this time, MMAJunkie reports that Werdum’s trainer, Rafael Cordero, believes the knee may be “blown.”

Werdum acknowledged the knee was injured but blamed himself for his loss in last Saturday’s main event, according to Brazilian site

  • Conor Heun: suspended until Aug. 28, 2011
  • Justin Wilcox: suspended until Aug. 3, 2011
  • K.J. Noons: suspended until July 19, 2011
  • Valentijn Overeem: suspended until July 19, 2011
