Urijah Faber vs. Brian Bowles Set for UFC 139 in November

Urijah FaberFormer champions Urijah Faber and Brian Bowles will look to earn another shot at the bantamweight title when they’re slated to square off in the likely co-main event of UFC 139 on November 19 in San Jose, California, the UFC announced late Thursday.

Faber (25-5), a former featherweight title-holder in the WEC, narrowly dropped his rematch with champion Dominick Cruz earlier this month in the main event of UFC 132 after earning a title shot in his Octagon debut over Eddie Wineland in March.

Bowles (10-1) has scored UFC wins over Damacio Page and Takeya Mizugai to make his case for another shot at Cruz, who claimed the title with a second-round stoppage of Bowles in the WEC last year.

Cruz will make his next title defense against Demetrious Johnson in the main event of UFC on Versus 6 on October 1 in Washington, D.C.

UFC 139 is expected to be headlined by heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez’s first title defense against Junior dos Santos.
