UFC 78: Terrell Injures Ankle, Withdraws From Bout Against Herman
By: Kris Karkoski (admin) | Nov 3, 2007
David Terrell has withdrawn from his scheduled UFC return later this month against Ed Herman at UFC 78 after suffering a severe ankle injury earlier this week. No replacement has been named.
Terrell began fighting in 1999 but has fought a total of just 8 times over the 8 year span. After a shocking UFC debut win over Matt Lindland in 2004 Terrell has competed just twice since. In early-2005 he was defeated at the hands of Evan Tanner but rebounded more than a year later in early-2006 with a win over Scott Smith.
MMAFrenzy.com will pass along news on a replacement as soon as it is announced.

What?!?!? If Terrell didn’t have bad luck, he’d have no luck at all. I was really looking forward to this fight. I like both him and Herman and thought this could be the fight of the night.
I really hope Terrell can make it back before another 18 month lay off. Or would recovery be a better term?
This sucks!
Oh, and they better not feed Herman another can in Terrell’s place either (if he still fights on this card). However, I am not sure if there is anybody that will take this fight on short notice. It will be interesting to see how this plays out!
I agree with everything you said Judoka. The thing is that it will be very difficult for the UFC to find a guy that is in shape and ready to fight a guy as good as Ed Herman on two weeks notice. Maybe a Welterweight can take the fight against.
Hopefully the UFC doesn’t get pissed off at Terrell and never let him fight in the UFC again. The UFC has all the right in the world to feel fed up with Terrell, but it it’s not like Terrell intentionally injures himself; these kind of things happen.
I think the UFC will give him another shot. He put Lindland TO SLEEP! On that note, I really hope Lindland and the UFC can work out their issues too. He is a tough ass red neck. Rampage says he’s funky, but that’s what soap is for.
Terrell is a really good fighter, but damn dude, how many times can this guy get injured just before a fight?
