Joe Doerksen Suffers Orbital Bone Fracture
By: Kris Karkoski (admin) | Nov 19, 2007
Joe Doerksen suffered a broken orbital bone in his UFC 78 loss to Ed Herman this past Saturday. Doerksen confirmed the injury with MMA Weekly.
After a back-and-forth fight which included a near submission by Doerksen late in the second round, Herman caught Doerksen early in round three knocking the 50-fight veteran out to secure the victory.
No timetable has been announced for his potential return to action which will likely come outside of the UFC. Despite holding 39 career victories the Canadian fighter has had little luck in the octagon. His lone win came in 2005 against Patrick Cote while he has been defeated by Joe Riggs, Matt Lindland, and Nate Marquardt.

Too bad for Joe. Had he won on Saturday it would have given him another potential run in the UFC, much like Cote is getting now.
Herman beat the **** out of him (except for that triangle/armbar)
Yeah scotchydow, Herman was in the zone last night besides him almost getting caught in the near submission. I guess Herman will probably fight Belcher next.
