- Leonard Garcia has agreed to a September 10th featherweight bout against former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver at WEC 36. [MMA Junkie]
- Anderson Silva will likely face Patrick Cote in a middleweight title bout at UFC 88 in Atlanta. [MMA Weekly]
- A long-rumored bout between welterweight contenders Thiago Alves and Diego Sanchez has been moved from UFC 89 to UFC 90 on October 25th in Chicago, Illinois. [Yahoo! Sports]
- Talks are underway for IFL standout Chris Horodecki to meet top lightweight Takanori Gomi in August in Japan. [The Fight Network]
- “The Ultimate Fighter 7″ cast member Jesse Taylor may be one and done with the UFC. Taylor recently criticized former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and, coupled with his first-round submission loss to CB Dollaway at UFC Fight Night 14, may be booted from the promotion. - Aleksander Emelianenko, the younger brother of WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, may have been removed from the Affliction “Banned” card last week due to a positive test for Hepatitis B. [Cage Potato]
- During the final press conference before Affliction “Banned” Fox Sports Net VP of Programming George Greenburg announced that the station will soon broadcast “ProElite”.
- Joe Jordan has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled MFC title fight against Ryan Ford due to a back injury and Ford will now take on Pat Healy at the July 25th event. [Fighters.com]

i’m in Chicago and i have comcast. i can not find Fox Sports Net anywhere. does anyone know if they offer this channel in my area or am i over looking the channe?
fedor and arlovski? if that’s fedor vs arlovski and not just the two of them fighting on the same card then i might have to watch. that is, if arlovski decides to fight how he used to. for the life of me i dunno why that guy isn’t still on top of the world. garcia pulver should be good too, although i think pulver might be a little more than garcia can handle.

Let him fight at UFC 89 and let the UK have a title shot that will probably be exciting, more so than Rampage/Hendo last year.
I personally think that would be a great addition to the 89 card, seeing as Alves / Sanchez is now removed and put back.

I dont think the Silva-Cote will be as lopsided as a lot are making it out to be. I think Silva will definatley have a decisive win, but in my opinion it will be a lot more appealing to watch than Silva and “anchorman” Ron Burga…..I mean James Irvin!!!

I don’t see what everyone else does I guess. I heard some more stupid remarks about Cote not being Destroyed by Silva? Lets compare “Cote” to “Leben and Irvin” kk. Chris Leben good chin with some power/decent ground and pound. James Irvin good punching power with decent chin/decent ground and pound. Ok on to “Patrick Cote” good chin and good punching power. It won’t go to the ground cause he just had a match he had to sprawl and brawl cause he has no ground game. Ok lets give Cote some credit say he lasts the combined total of Leben “49 seconds” and Irvin “1:01 minute”. So Cote loses by strikes in 1:50 first round. What does Cote offer that Silva has never seen in Irvin and Leben? Say Cote lands just as many Strikes as Leben and Irvin combined 1 Leg kick that gets him Knocked Out. Who knows maybe Cote goes in with the same game plan Franklin had ” Thought the Clinch would be my sweet spot”.
Ok on to business Silva in 1:50 of round 1 “Knockout” Strikes knees… Cote gets Silva grabs a plum and Knees him out. “Last comment Silva has to good of foot work for bone heads with no foot work to catch him”. My Line to Silva is you have to have more then just good hands?

Fedor/Arlovski would be awesome, beside super Mike B they are my favourite fighters and don’t know who i’d cheer for but I think Fedor would f*ck him up.

i think fedor beats arlovski rather effortlessly unless arlovski brings his old school A game. in that case he’ll still lose but probably not so bad.
i think garcia has a better chance than people give him against pulver too!

I’m not a whore…..I’m a huge MMA fan just like anyone else here. I still feel Affliction has made many moves that make them look desperate and pathetic to get a jump start. Whether you believe I was invited to my friends does not matter. I didn’t pay. When my bank statements and cable bill come, I’ll be happy to foward you all my info to prove you are thinking like a Ethiopian bacon eating midget. I’ve been nothing but real with you and have no reason to lie. Just don’t foward the bill back.(don’t want my wife seeing all the porn on the bill) I’m pretty sure when the next event is in the works I’ll have plenty of frustration to spew Affliction’s way. Im going to ufc 88 and i wanna see anderson silva fight patrick cote. Its true there are some big names already there but who are they fighting? just becuase chuck liddel is there doesn’t mean the rest of the fights don’t have to be exciting. i doubt we will see silva there but i hope we do. I cant see the ufc having its 2 biggest names on the same card. but who knows. all i know i dont find rick franklin or dan henderson fighting exciting. maybe if they were fighting each other.
Could you imagine “Anderson Silva Vs. Patrick Cote” added to UFC 88 a card that already has the likes of:
“Chuck Liddell Vs. Rashad Evans”
“Rich Franklin Vs. Matt Hamill”
“Karo Parisyan Vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida”
“Dan Henderson Vs. Rousimar Palhares”
That would be your top 5 main card fights, If it was possible to sell out a PPV this would be it.
I would bet this Card gets at least 6-7million views easy. I cann’t even remember the last time the UFC had a card this good from top to bottom. The last card I remember that was stacked with this much talent was Affliction Banned card. All I have to say is if this card aired the same day Afflictions did it would have destroyed their PPV numbers.
