Chris Horodecki vs. Dan Lauzon Rumored For Affliction “Day of Reckoning”

By: Kris Karkoski | Aug 17, 2008

Affliction Day of Reckoning PosterIFL lightweight standout Chris Horodecki may take on Dan Lauzon at Affliction “Day of Reckoning”, according to MMATraining.com.

“Day of Reckoning”, Affliction’s second-ever event, takes place on October 11th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air live on HDNet (8pm ET) and pay per view (9pm ET).

Following an 11-0 start to his MMA career Horodecki (12-1) was upset by Ryan Schultz in the IFL grand prix finals in late-2007. A 155-pound up-and-comer, Horodecki rebounded with a unanimous decision victory over Nate Lamotte in April.

Dan Lauzon (7-2), the younger brother of UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon, is the youngest fighter in UFC history, suffering a TKO loss to Spencer Fisher at UFC 64 in late-2006 at just 18 years, 5 months, and 14 days old. After losing back-to-back bouts Lauzon, who was recently featured on the Versus show “TapouT”, has won four-straight including a submission victory over Frank Latina in his most recent bout in February.

this is the affliction ppv that will crush their hopes and dreams as an mma promotion. unless they sign the rolling stones to perform at the event, or sell an amazing 1,000,000 t-shirts at the gate, I can’t see this ppv going anywhere but down the toilet. Arlovski rules!

    They need Fedor.
Yeah, I see Dan winning. I have only seen Horodecki fight once or twice but I wasn’t that impressed with him. he seems to have a “padded” record due to some easier IFL and TKO fights. Maybe I’m wrong.

I hope this doesn’t hurt Dan “Upgrade” Lauzon’s chances in coming to the UFC becuase Dana has been known to hold a grudge.

both are young, i actually think this one of Chris’s biggest test of his carrer, he got DESTROYED by Schultz and had two split decisions wins over Bart Pawashefskii (however u spell it) that um should have gone to Bart imo, but the IFL wanted Chris to be the poster boy and be undefeated, then he met Ryan Schutlz and got dominated, Chris likes to get in trouble on the ground and work his way over to the ropes and try to take himself out of the ring, so the ref will stand it up, ive seen him do this in every fight he gets in trouble on the ground, well when you have your arm pinned/held behind you and you’re getting punched in the face it hard to run from that inevitable TKO for the first loss of his carrer (awesome fight~~ i mean whooping), im not super pumped for this fight but if the ppv price is again reasonable i will buy this card hell its Josh Barnett v AA why wouldnt you wanna buy this card…… o because some people think that Affliction is filled with washed up old UFC guys which is clearly an opionion i disagree with

Lauzon seems like a cool kid so i hope he takes this one. If he did go and train at Delagrotte’s camp like they made it seem like he might on Tapout, he shouldn’t have much of a problem with an overrated Horodecki.

    Kenton,

Unfortunately, I think you’re right that if he goes and fights on Afflicition than Dana will hold a grudge like the immature egomaniac he is.

Horodecki should win by ko. His really good on his feet and from what I saw Lauzon is not. If it stays standing and thats a big if, chris ko’s him in the first round!

Who cares- another one-sided fight. I ordered the first card but will not order this one.

I will order the 3rd card and I’m praying that they don’t screw up by signing a way-over-the-hill gorilla head :)

Batting 0-4 on that wish list.

Affliction is doing everything they can to fail miserably. It’s actually pretty impressive, from a “Don’t do this” point of view.

That sounds like something dana would say…

Arlovski is my second favourite mma fighter behind anderson silva (mainly because of the badass beard with the fangs mouthgard; looks cool). He was a badass mf in that fight against rothwell. The jumping knee to the face almost makes me want to purchase this card. But with an Anderson Silva ppv already in October, that’s a pretty expensive month with both. yikes. Plus 2 UFC ppv’s in one month is plenty of fighting …And seeing as I only have to pay for one of them, I’ll pass on the $40 Affliction.

Affliction should really consider making their PPVs $29.95. The Rob is right…gonna be a tough month on the cable bill.

A good test for young Chris.
Overall i cant say i’m excatly peeing my pants in antisapation for this PPV
