Not too surprised ….. sounds like its gonna be Machida vs Shogun . I can smell it

  • DolfanG said:

This card looks really weak for a PPV. Leben and bisping are the main event? Maybe they’ll reduce to price to $5. Afflicition should put a fight night together real quick and put there’s on TV free of charge. Joe Silva: I am not impressed with your performance…

  • drightler said:

UFC 89 is free on Spike in the US/Canada…

  • Rhymeskill15 said:

    yea this event is free…
and if it was ppv…man that would be horrible…even for being a free card it is still weak…
    not very dana like…
    any possible opponents for machida???

  • drightler said:

I think its a decent card. It’s not a $44.99 PPV for sure, but for free I won’t complain one bit. I’m looking forward to Bisping/Leben, Jardine/Vera, and Cane/Sokoudjou… plus I’m a Marcus Davis fan… I just like the guy for some reason.

  • Brandon said:

You guys are nuttier than squirrel turds. This is great “free” card. Leben vs. Bisping will definately be an exciting fight. Just because they’re not big names doesn’t mean they aren’t big fights. Machida would have been boring anyway. It’s like he’s afraid to get hit. Whoeve fights him next should make it there primary goal to f**k his face all up.

  • Leo said:

I think this is a great card…bisping and leben is going to be real exciting.. And im interested in watching Cane i think he might be somthing special in a year or 2

  • Fedor said:

UFC is going down the drain with all these crap fights. Leben vs Bisping - I won’t watch it even if it is for free …..

  • braveheart said:

They should put Yoshida v Kos as co-main! that’d make this card

  • kouch said:

Every tme there is a fight card in England, people bash the hell out of it. I defended the last England event to death and it turned out being great. That is the best part of MMA….YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. It’s like a box of chocolates. I like this fight card and am VERY IMPRESSED by Joe Silvas expert match making abilities. Before I even read the first post I saw prelim fights I would have liked to see on the main card.

  • kouch said:

    Fedor,

Good. Have fun watching Affliction fail.

  • Daddy Lupo said:

That f*cking piss me off. How can you tell bull**** about this card ! F*ck off the fact that there is no big star ! I don’t care. I see a lot of potential in this show and i think we will see crazy stuffs. I also love to watch Jardine getting killed.

    Fedor,
man go watch video of Kimho online, Pedro Rizzzzzzzzzzzo and the Affliction dancers.

  • kouch said:

    Daddy Lupo,

    You said it!

  • jiujitsuMAN said:

HOW THE HELL DID HE INJUR HIS BACK???

sounds like BS to me, how can a guy who never gets hit suddenly get hurt… training? ya right, if the guy fights like he trains we know that didnt happen… i bet its a cop out

  • jiujitsuMAN said:

oh. lol i read it as machida was out with a back injury… not thiago… he i could understand getting injured… lol

  • timcat said:

Looks like a good card to me. I hope Leban kicks Bisping’s a$$.

  • Rhymeskill15 said:

    ayy daddy…reeeeeeelax!!!!

i should have as well as everyone else, phrased my comment differently!
this card is not good enough to be a PPV!
thats all we are saying! haha
it is too weak 4 a PPV..
but for free…it is a good card..i’m just saying i would not pay for this event!
but i am glad it is free…because i am sure it will be a great show..

  • DolfanG said:

I won’t complain too much since it’s free of charge. As you know by now, I’m not much of a bisping fan. I hope Leben knocks him out.

How many people would really pay $50 to see that card? I know I wouldn’t.

  • RLT said:

    DolfanG,

Since you obviously don’t have much going on in your life, I’m suprised you didn’t know this was free.

    Fedor,

Good riddance. Why do you visit this site if you aren’t interested in FREE MMA from the #1 promotion in the world.

This card has a lot of potential to showcase future contenders. If your only interest is celebrities the E channel should suit you just fine.

I dont know if shogun would want to fight machida he needs a win to get back in the mix and he also needs to show the casual fans who dont know him that he aint just a stepping stone for Forrest. And a win over machida is easier said than done.

  • Dietrich said:

Somebody start a petition to keep MAchida out of Vegas….

  • Nate6132 said:

I DONT KNOW WHY EVERYONE HATES ON MACHIDA
I LIKE WATCHING HIM AND HIS TECHNIQUE AND HOW HE MOVES AND EVADES AND ATTACKS
    ITS VERY TECHNICAL
MAYBE BORING SOMETIMES, BUT STILL COOL TO WATCH

  • huertarogerhuerta said:

i think this card has all the makings to b good. first lemmie say i saw gono fight in jersey and his entrance alone made him 1 of my favorite fights that night wit the japanese techno and the wig and the dancin. priceless. now onto the issues at hand i feel bisping vs leben will b full of fireworks that probably wont go the distance. jardine usually looks good afta his losses. he lost to bonner came back and beat gouveia and forrest he lost to alexander and beat chuck so i def wanna see wat hes gonna do afta wandy rearanged his face. his opponent vera is desprate for an impressive win to get his name in the mix again so that should b entertainin. i like chris lytle and paul taylor and they both usually put on a good fight. all in all this is actually a pretty good card and considerin all the matchups that r set(and rumored) for the upcoming months i think this card is the best they couldve done wit the guys they had to fight

  • DolfanG said:

    RLT

I actually did know it was free, but I forgot about it. Who’s your momma? How did you know so much about my life? You’re amazing… Like a fortune teller or something. Are you a real gypsy?

  • huertarogerhuerta said:

as for machida we all kno that the ufc is about makin fights the fans want to see and personally i want to see franklin vs machida or chuck vs machida. all 3 of those guys r good counter strikers. both franklin and chuck provide solid tests for the still untested machida. i think franklin is the most likly cuz chuck doesnt wanna lose again and franklins much more aggresive stylewise then chuck. also franklin and machida have a history as machida was franklins lone loss till silva so that adds to the marketability

  • DolfanG said:

    huertarogerhuerta

For a free fight night there are some matchups I’m looking forward to. I just hope Leben makes the night worthwhile by knocking out bisping. If that happens, everything else is gravy. I wouldn’t pay to see this card however.

  • jb said:

It is ridiculous that people are bashing this card. For the weak ass fans that only like the commercialized mma organizations and only want to see the few names they actually know of, this card is not for you. Joe silva did a great job putting this card together. I mean c’mon seriously if you know mma, your goin to like these fights. chris lytle vs paul taylor, paul kelly vs marcus davis, akiro gono vs dan hardy, jardine vs vera. And bisping vs leben is a great eliminator that will be a brawl. Every one of the fights except for maybe shane carwin vs neil wain are very competitive fights. If the machida and thiago silva fight was stil on this would be one of the best cards in terms of pure matchups in a long time. Those of you bandwagon fans just now jumping on the mma train, your lack of knowledge and ignorance of the sport is a joke and nobody wants to hear anything you have to say anyway. Stay out of the intelligent conversation.

  • DolfanG said:

I don’t understand why there is such a difference between fans about fights. I think this is a weak card FOR A PPV. For a free fight card, I like it. If, on the other hand, Affliction or some other promotion put an equally competive card together, they would be beat down for it. I enjoy watching good MMA whether it’s Zuffa or not. No matter what your opinion might be, I won’t call you any names or act like I’m superior to you because I’m not… and who knows but maybe you might even be right and I might be wrong… they’re just opinions… relax and enjoy this web site.

  • carls said:

Im with the UFC till the bitter end and will buy any PPV they put out. I personally think its money well spent and any die hard like myself deep down knows it. Without the UFC mma would be nowhere right now.

  • kouch said:

I with Carls. I would have paid for it anyway. I plan on spending $600 minimum on UFC every year if I plan on seeing every PPV…which I intend to do. I also don’t mind spending more.

  • DolfanG said:

Maybe you might have more information than I do, but I was under the impression that the UFC was losing money and the brothers were either looking for a buyer or were on the verge of looking for a buyer until Spike came along with TUF. That’s what turned things around for the UFC. They’ve been making money ever since.

The UFC is not in the business to promote the sport, they’re in the business to make money. And that’s good by me. They should make money, but I know what’s going on with that, so I’m not a UFC fan, I’m a MMA fan. The UFC is just another promotion… a big promotion, but I like the others just as much as I do them.

  • del said:

i’m glad we got a better card in Canada last April, the brits never get a title fight, I would never pay money to go watch live if there is no belt on the line. And Machida being bumped off the card is the best news i’ve heard all week, I hope they keep him off the next 20 or so…

  • UK_Chris said:

I am a little dissapointed they didnt arrange another last minute fight to replace Machida/Silva. Didnt even have to be big names, just something interesting. I am now one fight less for my money. Which happened to be a very important fight.
Ah well, I shall still be cheering on Bisping and Hardy. And Jardine/Vera should be a scrap to.

  • trev uk said:

del what u goin on about rampage vs henderson in london was a title fight

  • gav d glasgow said:

am with you chris,if this was in the states there would’ave been a replacement for silva.this is prob the weakest card ave seen for a while and am only moanin coz a payed 240pound for a floor seat n wanted to see silva kick machidas back trackin ass.bisping 1st round TKO

  • surfingk5 said:

I think any of the UFC fight cards have great potential. I have a hell of a time making picks anymore! Including this card. They know what is on the line and they fight their asses off.

Machida…unable to set up a fight??? Mmm…I wonder why? No one wants the fight? Can’t say I blame them…lol

  • DolfanG said:

I agree with gav d glasgow… bisping will be TKO’d in the first round. He’s a bum and the sooner he falls from the ranks, the better.

  • DolfanG said:

I saw a fight on TV a couple of nights ago. They were fighting in a tiny ring. Guy Mezger kept saying they were fighting in a phone booth. That’s the type of ring that would be perfect for Machida to fight in because he wouldn’t be able to back up as far. It might knock some of the boring off the guy. He’s such a talented fighter and he’s style sure works for him, but he’s boring to watch even though he’s so technical.

  • gav d glasgow said:

DolfanG a ment bisping win by TKO ha,dont see it goin the distance thats for sure gony be a brawl!

  • UK_Chris said:

    gav,

Yeah i went one lower and got a £130 ticket. The lineup was pretty good until they pulled the silva/machida fight.
Hoping for a Bisping tko over Leben too. Although I personally wouldnt be surprised to see a submission which because they are two strikers, people may have forgotton about. Bisping is fitter, more agile and quicker and could very easily whack on a choke.

  • Mike said:

Good riddance. I can’t stand Machida. He is the most boring fighter ever! I wish someone would pound the crap out of him so bad that he quits the UFC. He needs to be in a smaller organization where no one will see him and not take up valuable space in UFC light heavyweight division.

I actually was rooting for Tito, and I hate Tito’s guts! At least Tito comes to fight and doesn’t run around in fu@king circles.

  • Rhymeskill15 said:

I WANNA SEE MACHIDA VS FRANKLIN!!!!!!!

  • ALL_VICTIM said:

    G0 Keith Jardine !!! kick some a$$

  • DolfanG said:

There’s something about Keith Jardine’s footwork that just drives me up a tree. The way he “plods” around… I don’t know. He did well against Liddell, but he’s also done just as bad as he did good in that fight. He has so much potential and under achievs.

  • DolfanG said:

Maybe a Machida — Jardine fight would answer a lot of questions. Jardine solved the way to beat Liddell, maybe he could figure out how to beat Machida. On the other hand, Jardine doesn’t chase, he stays back. That would force machida to take the center. I’d love to see a fight with Machida doing the stalking.

  • Markus J said:

Jardine is more of a one trick pony than Liddell ever was. I loved watching Wandy check his leg kick, come over the top and then knock the crap out of him in 30 seconds. Jardine has no chance against a guy like Machida. And I would hardy say he “solved” the way to beat Liddell. Anyways just my two cents… I still get goosebumps when I watch that Wanderlei vs Jardine fight… =)

  • DolfanG said:

The buzz seems to be that Jardine was one of the guys that helped train Evans for this fight and Evans used Jardine’s fight plan against Liddell. Others will supposedly follow in their foot prints against The Iceman. Therefore, I said Jardine was the one to solve the problem that Couture didn’t solve - How to beat Chuck Liddell.

  • DolfanG said:

… keep in mind… I could be wrong. I don’t claim to be the world’s smartest man.

  • fr702 said:

Wanderlei v Jardine perhaps some of the best 36 seconds of vintage Wanderlei (ofcourse I’m bias) perhaps Jardine can help Rampage solve Wanderlei

Chuck getting KO’d just sucked but hey my hats off to Evans that was just vicious
Also nice to see Hendo back to his winning ways

  • DolfanG said:

    FR

I doubt it… Jardine didn’t do as well against Silva. But, Maybe Liddell could help Rampage. He beat the crap out of Silva.

  • DolfanG said:

… by the way… I thought that was a GREAT fight!

  • fr702 said:

Abit of sarcasim from me DolfanG Rampage is going to be 0-3 v Wanderlei

  • timcat said:

Machida deserves a title shot. Who cares if he’s “boring”, all he does is win. You have to respect that. Remember he beat Franklins A$$. He also beat BJ PENN. ENOUGH SAID!!!!

  • gav d glasgow said:

think machida has to beat w silva or rampage to get near a title shot, either those fights would be interestin!just wish 1 of them were available for this card!

  • ALL_VICTIM said:

Machida vs Franklin would be good to see

  • JOHNBOY said:

dana should give chuck a shot at getting back to the top after all hes a legand and he gave randy a shot just for asking but im not even saying give him a shot im saying chuck vs machida in december then if chuck gets beat fair dos walk away if he wins hes gets winner of wandi rampage how good would that little 4 way tornie be……..or maybe im just talking crap haha i just dont like seeing my fav fighter get knocked out the way he did. WAR chuck

  • Sean said:

wanna beat machida then go talk to greg jackson aka the phil jackson of MMA.. lol

  • Kevin said:

None of these fights will be bad. All who think it is, are retarded casual fans that get mad that Chuck Liddell isn’t on every card.

  • Frank said:

    Machida BORING?????
Could YOU get into the octagon w/ Franklin, Penn, Ortiz, Bonnerz, Soukodjou, White,- etc.,- and not only NOT get hit, -but win????
It takes a slobbering one dimensional mind to not appreciate a skill like that. There are exciting fights on all levels whether it be an all out brawl or an MMA chess match between two seasoned and respected fighters. I’m definitely looking forward to his next fight to see what techniques and strategies he has in his arsenal….
