UFC 72 has developed rapidly over the past 24 hours from a rumored event with an unconfirmed main event to tickets going on sale tomorrow. UFC Fight Club members can start to buy tickets tomorrow, April 18th at 4am EST. Presale for UFC newsletter subscribers hits on Friday at 4am with the presale password of “victory”. Finally general sale of tickets will be saturday at 4am.
In other news a bout between Eddie Sanchez and Colin Robinson has been added to the card for the event. It is believed this fight will be on the events undercard. Sanchez (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) fell to Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic at UFC 67 when he was TKO’d in the first round via strikes.
Robinson (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is a native of Ireland and marks the first of what I expect to be several Irish fighters who will eventually be added to the events card. This event, like UFC 70, will in all likelihood feature local talent when the final fight card is announed. Robinson has won his four most recent fights, most recently a decision in March. This may sound like Robinson is on an impressive streak but only one of the fighters has a winning record.
