Featherweight Manny Gamburyan has been forced to withdraw from his fight with Diego Nunes on the UFC 135 fight card after The Ultimate Fighter 5 runner-up recently suffered a shoulder injury while training for the September 24 event in Denver, Colorado.
Gamburyan Tweeted news of the injury on Monday after an MRI didn’t “look good”.
After coming up short against featherweight champ Jose Aldo in the WEC, Gamburyan (11-6) returned to the UFC in June, but dropped a majority decision to Tyson Griffin. Gamburyan was forced to submit to a dislocated shoulder in The Ultimate Fighter 5 finals against Nate Diaz in 2007.
UFC 135 is headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and also features Matt Hughes vs. Diego Sanchez.
