“The Ultimate Fighter 6: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra” welterweight cast member Matt Arroyo (3-1) will return to the octagon on June 21st at “The Ultimate Fighter 7” Finale. Arroyo announced the news on his official website earlier this week.
Arroyo’s opponent for the bout has not yet been announced.
After defeating Dorian Price and Troy Mandaloniz in the first two rounds of the reality series, Arroyo was forced to withdraw from the competition and a scheduled semifinal matchup against eventual show winner Mac Danzig after sustaining a rib injury. John Kolosci was selected to replace Arroyo in the competition.
At “The Ultimate Fighter 6” Finale Arroyo defeated Kolosci via first round submission.
The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale is headlined by a middleweight showdown between former champion Evan Tanner and The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall Grove. Additional main card bouts officially announced for the Spike TV broadcast are the middleweight tournament finals, Diego Sanchez versus Luigi Fioravanti, and Spencer Fisher versus Jeremy Stephens.
